The Digimon Temple
Characters

This is a profile of the human characters. For digimon profiles, see The Digimon. Obviously there are only profiles for the eight digidestined children (Who else would I write profiles for anyways?). (Note: Seiyuu is Japanese for voice actor, therefore the Seiyuu name is their Japanese voice actor.)

Tai

Taichi (Tai) Kamiya

Seiyuu of Taichi: Fujita Toshiko
Voice of Tai: Joshua Seth.

Tai is the leader of the digidestined kids and Kari's brother. He is couragerous, agressive, and ready to stand up for what he believes in. Just because he is the leader it doesn't always mean that he does the right thing. He sometimes gets the kids into horrible fixes but can be counted on to save them. He feels very responsible for Kari's safety (she is his sister, after all, but when she's sick he nearly beats up Izzy over it... ^-^;;;) Sometimes Tai's emotions can get in the way of rational thinking. Still, he carried the crest of courage and his digimon partner is Augumon. Fun fact: "taichi" in Japanese means opposing something (to something else) Hmmm, well, Tai can be difficult sometimes...

Matt

Yomato (Matt) Ishida

Seiyuu of Yomato: Kazama Yuuto
Voice of Matt: Michael Reisz.

Matt cares deeply about his brother, T.K and will do anything to protect him although he doesn't admit to it. He is quiet and likes to do things his own way, which can get him into trouble with Tai. He can be pursuaded onto the dark side now and then but always comes through for his friends. His loner personality takes charge for a while in the Dark Masters' era of the show, and he wonders off to find himself. When he returns he has confidence in his self and is no longer afraid to show his feelings towards things. His crest is for friendship and his partner is Gabumon.

Sora

Sora Takenouchi

Seiyuu of Sora: Mizutani Yuko
Voice of Sora: Colleen O'Shaghnessy.

Sora is the mother hen of the group. Dispite being a tomboy she is always looking out for the other members of the group and the first to ask if everyone's all right after a battle. She isn't always sure about Tai's ability to command but follows him anyways. She has had some problems with her mother, as her mother is just as overprotective of her as she is of Biomon. Still, she figures out eventually that her mother was only trying to help her, and lets Biomon fight (she was refusing to for a while there...) Her crest represents love and her digimon partner is Biomon. Fun fact: "sora" in Japanese means sky.

Joe

Jyou (Joe) Kido

Seiyuu of Jyou: Kikuchi Masami
Voice of Joe: Michael Lindsey.

Joe is a notorious pessimist and hypochronriac and is basically afraid of everything. Unfortunatly usually his pessimistic predictions come true. The other kids make fun of him but he'd rather be safe than sorry. Still when his friends are in danger he is there for them. Towards the end of the series he also goes off alone to find himself. He is afraid to go against his father's wishes for him to become a doctor, and never really gets over that. Eventually he makes a compromise. His crest is for reliability and his digimon is Gomamon.

Mimi

Mimi Tachikawa

Seiyuu of Mimi: Maeda Ai
Voice of Mimi: Philece Sampler.

Mimi is sort of a ditz and had led a very sheltered life up to her arrival in the digiworld, when it promply changed. She was slow to adjust but finally did, proving that she could take care of herself. She and Palmon had a few problems for a while, but they got over them. Still, Mimi doesn't really realize what their friendship means to both of them until the last ep (where in she tries to avoid Palmon 'cause she doesn't want to say goodbye.) Her crest is sincerity and her digimon is Palmon.

Izzy

Koushirou (Izzy) Izumi

Seiyuu of Koushiro: Tenjin Umi
Voice of Izzy: Mona Marshall.

Izzy is a computer nerd, he admits it, but manages to get along with the others anyhow. He brings a laptop to the digiworld and through it gets information on the digimon and the weird world around them. He also gets e-mail from Gennai which can help or hinder. He can sometimes get so wrapped up in his thoughts that he almost gets thwacked by some evil digimon but his partner, Tentomon is there to protect him. In the second half of the series he trussles with the problem all kids wonder about 'was I adopted?' and finally accepts that he was and he had just been ignoring the evidence. His crest is knowledge.

T.K.

Takeru (T.K.) Takaishi

Seiyuu of Takeru: Konishi Hiroko
Voice of T.K: Wendee Lee.

T.K. is Matt's little brother and really wants to be like him. He tries to convince the others that he's a big boy and can take care of himself but Matt continues to look out for him. He cries a lot but gets better about it at the end of the series. He is very eager to please but it goes pretty much unnoticed. He gets tired of Matt's constant overprotectiveness in the second half of the series (hey Matt, you're cramping my style!) and they have a few fights. They do make up in the end though. His crest is hope and his digimon is Patamon.

Kari

Hikari (Kari) Kamiya

Seiyuu of Hikari: Araki Kae
Voice of Kari: Lara Jill Miller.

Kari is the new kid in the group, the eighth digidestined. The kids traveled back to the real world to save her from the evil digimon. She is Tai's little sister but she isn't really like him, more sweet than rash. She is very caring and protective towards the others and the digimon, but not quite to Mimi's extent (she doesn't become a pacifist, eh.). Her crest is light and her digimon partner is Gatomon. Fun Fact: "Hikari" means "light" in Japanese.
